We made glitter snowglobes,

conducted various experiments with ice cubes, snow, and water (which Ethan wanted to participate it),

and had a sensory activity consisting of shaving cream (the snow), a dish of water (the ocean) and toy penguins, all contained in a pan. Well, it started out contained in a pan.

It didn't stay in the pan.

The other hit of the week was our animal iceberg. We froze a bunch of toy animals in a dish of water, and the boys all worked together to "excavate" them with salt, spoonfuls of warm water, and hammers. Other activities that I didn't get pictures of include "snow" painting (painting with a mixture of shaving cream and glue!), making many, many snowflakes out of coffee filters, and our pretzel snowflake snack.
I was hoping for a little more actual snow outside so we could make a snowman and some snow angels ... you'd think that would be natural in January in Wisconsin! Oh well, I'm sure we'll have more opportunities to do those things before spring comes.

Your pictures demonstrate exactly why we limit our science experiments. lol
